National diabetes prevention program
In collaboration with Jose A. Goris, MD.PC., we had implemented a 1-year evidence-based Lifestyle Change program for the Latino Community in New York City. The “NDPP”, is endorsed by the Department of Health & Mental Hygiene in New York and the Center for Decease Control and Prevention (CDC) and is covered by Medicaid and other health maintenance organizations. The Prevent T2 curriculum which helps prevent or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes. The program is focused on sustainable lifestyle changes, including weight loss and increased physical activity. Launched online in August 2020 during the pandemic with a modified curriculum to incorporate stress management healing modalities.
